Call Mickey Haller
Synopsis
Do you need a lawyer? He leaves his law practice in Lincoln and is ready to hit the gas. He runs errands in Los Angeles while balancing his personal life, which includes fatherhood and two ex-wives. It was originally set up for a series commitment at CBS in 2020, but was canceled due to COVID just before filming the first episode. . It has now been picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, “The Brass Verdict.” Mickey Haller has several cars, each with personalized California license plates and legal terms.

California personalized plates allow up to seven letters/numbers, but all of Mickey’s plates have at least eight. Lincoln Lawyer has adapted his novel The Brass Verdict into a Netflix television show. Starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Becki Newton from How I Met Your Mother, Neve Campbell from Scream, Christopher Gorham, Angus Sampson from the Insidious franchise, Jazz Raycole and Lana Parrilla from Once Upon a Time. In 2006, Michael Connelly published the first of six books based on Mickey Haller. In 2011, Connelly’s first book, The Lincoln Lawyer, was adapted into a film. Years later, in 2022, Netflix released a television show called The Lincoln Lawyer.
Rulfo is charming and likeable as Haller
It is based on the second book in the series known as The Brass Verdict. After another lawyer mysteriously dies, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia Rulfo) inherits all his unfinished cases. In addition to learning his cases, he begins to investigate the sudden death of a colleague while trying to mend his relationships in his personal life. It’s not hard to see why The Lincoln Lawyer is so popular on Netflix. All the storylines and likable characters make the show exciting. He makes the audience and the court laugh with a one-liner.
Great supporting cast
He has a history of substance abuse problems and has compassion for people in similar situations, which is why he hires Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole) as his driver. They care about each other and hold each other accountable to ensure they both stay on track. Gorham gives a great performance as Trevor Elliott, the billionaire who plays the victim of his wife’s murder. Newton plays a positive and caring Lorna Crane, who is both Haller’s secretary and friend. In addition, he hires a private investigator named Cisco for every person who helps Haller. Sampson works well with the team to ensure Haller’s success.
The variety of storylines makes the show interesting
Most episodes have a smaller case that Haller has to win, but there’s also a big case that he has to solve along with other plot points. My take on The Lincoln Lawyer is that if you like legal dramas, you’ll like this show.
