Synopsis
A local activist and an upstart young mayor collide over the best way forward in their poor suburbs. The original French name for the project was supposed to be “Les Indésirables”.
It’s just an indictment of real facts, a real tragedy
In this second movie from the director of LES MISERABLES, made in 2019, we still have Alexis Manenti and Steve Tchientcheu, but not in the same roles. Manent the policeman becomes the mayor and Tchientcheu the local king becomes a big member of the town hall too…This is not a social crime drama just a social drama, just remove the crime element.
Not everyone agrees with the message of this movie
The government’s strategy for immigrants is at the heart of this story. If you want to escape your problems, if you want to dream, hope for the future, this movie is not for you.
Very painful ending, poignant, disturbing
But if you are brave enough to open your eyes to the real and ugly face of the modern world, modern society, this movie is the best opportunity for you. Unforgettable.
